Installation

LookDev packages are built for a specific Maya runtime. Use only the installer that matches the Maya version shown in the package name.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • A supported Autodesk Maya version
  • V-Ray for Maya installed and loadable for the complete lighting workflow

Install or repair

  1. 1
    Close Maya and extract the complete LookDev package to a local folder.
  2. 2
    Run the included installer, for example install_lookdev_2025.bat for Maya 2025.
  3. 3
    Choose Install / Repair and wait for the installer to report success.
  4. 4
    Open Maya and use the newly created LookDev shelf.
Do not install a separate copy of Python, PySide2 or PySide6. LookDev uses the runtime bundled with the matching Maya release.
